Movin’ on up!

It’s been a crazy two weeks. Marc was let go from his job, we bought a new Mac for him to start doing freelance, and we bought a house! Oh yes, that’s right! See that little S below! That’s going to be our house in March 2011!

We tried to get into this development about 8 months ago, and things just did not work out. We were looking into it again (phase 2) when Marc was let go. I figured our plans were gone then. My dad made a comment that got me thinking. He said, “why can’t you buy still”? So I made a few phone calls, and 5 days later we were approved for the mortgage. We said this was our last chance trying in this development and probably for awhile. It was either 3x a charm, or 3 strikes and your out!

So, our condo closes on December 1st, and then we will put the down payment down, move into our rented apartment for a year and a half until our new home is built. It is in a few cities away from where we are now and it’s more of a country town, then a city, but there are lots of amenities close by, We will have about a 35-40 min commute during the weekdays to work, but that’s ok.

It is a towhouse, 1550 sq. ft. Much bigger than our current 626 sq. ft. Most have shared driveways but we chose one with a single driveway. 2 floors plus a basement, 3 bedrooms, with laundry and an ensuite bathroom upstairs. Our new house will have 3 bathrooms! 2 full, and 1 half. We can hardly keep our 1 bath clean now!

I like the fact that we won’t move in for a year and a half. Lots of time to save money. I’d be super stressed if it was right around the corner. So instead of going out to eat to celebrate, I told Marc I didn’t want to. I have a goal on onederland. We are heading out to the movies tonight. I <3 the movies!

Have a great night!

Challenge Update: I did my first workout last night. It was tough. I was not in the mood, but knowing I had the support of my fellow challengers, I did it. It was good. It was my first time ever doing the obstacle course, and it was tough, and I only had it on medium intensity. Running, jump squats, kick backs, and then 120 jumps of skipping. I was gasping for breath afterwards. I burned 171 calories in about 30 minutes. THAT was worth it. I plan to do another workout tomorrow night. Trish emailed me and told me she went out to buy the wii, just to purchase and do EA Sports Active More Workouts. Yay Trish!

Ok, I am off to make dinner: sole fillets with some sort of veggie.!

I’m on the web! Somewhere else!

Tomorrow is Day One of the EA Sports Active for Life 6 week challenge. I’m pretty excited, as are all the other challengers. The challenger bios (mine too) are online! Check it out! Go and meet everyone! I guess I have pretty lofty goals for the end of December when the challenge is over. I was at Kathy’s tonight, and we hope I will be 190 by the end of December. I think I can do it. Doing all this exercise and toning is one thing. I will have to watch my diet majorly to see results on the scale.

I have decided to continue on the plateau breaker until I see 198.whatever. As long as that takes. I know it will work, and i have been lacking so much self control lately, I need to see onederland. For weeks, I have been thinking about the post I am going to write when I hit the elusive onderland. Won’t be bells and whistles, or anything, but just writing those numbers will be A-MAZING! Kathy thinks by early next week I should see it. I’m going to tough it out. It’s going to be kinda torture being so strict, but after a few days I probably won’t miss much. This morning I was 203.7.

SO are we all excited for the challenge?! Is anyone else out there doing it with me? Trish, Sonya?!

Have a great night everyone. It’s 10:35 p.m. I should be in bed, but I have so much energy this evening!

Exciting News!

mainmenu_eaactive_logoHello everyone! I’m in such a happy good mood tonight! WHY? I received some exciting news this afternoon. I was chosen to be an EA SPORTS Active Challenger in the EA SPORTS Active for Life 6 Week Challenge!

What does that mean? Well, along with 12 other people, I will be doing the 6 week challenge using the NEW EA SPORTS Active More Workouts.  It starts on November 20th and goes to December 31, which if you notice is right through Christmas. This is great for me. Like everyone else, the holidays is prime fall off the wagon time. Along with my other goals, this will help me to stay on track and KEEP losing over the holidays.

We were asked to create a video up to one minute in length that shows them why YOU should be one of the featured challengers. Here’s my video! I feel so silly showing this, but I’m posting it anyway!

I will follow the on More Workouts 6 -Week Challenge and will be submitting blogs or video blogs of my thoughts and progress on the EA SPORTS Active website. In January, there will be retreat for the Challengers held in Los Angeles which I will be attending.  I was super excited to be a Challenger before I even knew about the retreat! WOW! I got the email saying I was selected and called Marc right away, before I even finished reading!

I start the challenge on November 20th, but More Workouts is available on November 17th. Is anyone up to doing the challenge at the same time?! I would love the company!

I told Heather tonight that it’s going to be hard and challenging, but nothing I couldn’t do. She told me to go and get a workout in tonight. I didn’t get home until 8pm. I told her to save the pep talk for November! LOL!

YAY! YAY! YAY!  <—– Very excited over here!!
