I’m really looking forward to moving into our new townhouse, approx 1 year from now. It will be so nice to have some extra room, and 3 bathrooms! That said, we can hardly keep up with cleaning a 1 bed/1 bath apt, we will definately need to step it up. Most of the time, it’s just laziness. I’ve started reading some home blogs as well daydreaming about decor, and upgrades. We get 5000$ free in upgrades, so deciding what is worth it now, and what we can do later for cheaper. I think we’re going to spend most of the money on hardwood flooring in the main floor, and upgraded carpet upstairs. We will probably research home security systems, I’ve always wanted one because I’m a wimp. I’m always nervous. So lots to think about and a lot to save for. When Marc starts working again, then we can start saving again. We’re trying hard to have a budget wedding. $8500-$9000 is where I’m estimating things at. Wow, that’s a lot of money especially when you write it out! 9000$ would go really far in our new house. But everyone one goes through weddings and home buying, so we’ll make it!

My husband installs home security systems, and he likes to remind people that they do not prevent or deter break-ins, they simply alert you to when the house has been broken in to. If that makes you feel safer, go ahead and get one.
